. . . to re-balance, re-charge and re-vitalise
What can I expect from a Reiki session?
Your first appointment will begin with a Wellbeing Review covering your general health, medical history, work/life balance and emotional well being. This information is treated with the utmost respect and so confidentiality is assured.
A Reiki session is conducted while lying fully clothed with head and knees supported on a massage couch. If lying down is uncomfortable Reiki can be given semi-reclined or seated. I also offering distance Reiki over zoom.
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that may in turn promote healing. Discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui at the turn of the 20th century it involves the “laying on of hands”.
The Japanese words Rei and Ki mean ‘Universal Life Energy’. As a Reiki Master Practitioner, I act as a conduit to allow this universal energy to be channelled through my hands to where it is needed. I place my hands in a series of non-intrusive positions on the body or in the auric field staying at each position for several minutes.
Each treatment is unique to the individual. Some people experience any of a range of sensations: heat, cold, tingling, involuntary muscle twitching, pain at the site of an old injury or colours. All of these should be regarded as a positive sign that Reiki is reaching the area where it is most needed.
Most people find Reiki deeply relaxing, some are revitalised, others feel tired and some are emotional. Occasionally some people experience a headache, cold or flu-like symptoms all of which are of short duration and should be seen as a positive sign that unbalanced energy is being readjusted and that the healing process has begun.
How can I benefit from Reiki?
Universal Life energy flows within the body along meridians and when disrupted, by physical or emotional trauma and stress, weakens the functions of the body.
A simple, yet very powerful technique, which can be learned by anyone, Reiki is activated by intention and works on every level helping to promote the body’s inherent self healing ability.
A natural, holistic and deeply relaxing experience, Reiki can benefit everyone – newborn babies, pregnant women, the elderly and terminally ill.
Many people are surprised at the far reaching effect Reiki has on their lives. Reiki has to be experienced to be appreciated.
